Dear friends!

I hope this post finds you well. It's April, which means it's time for me to slow down a bit and get busy at home with preparations for a big project to take place at the end of May in Bucharest, Romania.
A few months ago I received an invitation from the Jewish Theater in Bucharest to perform my own program DI Naye Yidishe Melodyes (New Yiddish Melodies) there. What is unusual about the invitation is that I was asked to perform this program together with an ensemble of musicians from the Jewish Theater of Bucharest as part of the international Yiddish theater festival Tes Fest.
The difficulty of the task lies not only and not so much in the fact that I will be performing with musicians I am not yet familiar with, but in the fact that I intend to make the musicians play in the traditional style of klezmer music, which implies the complete absence of pre-determined parts for each instrument (which in itself is challenging for classically trained musicians), as well as the spontaneity of arrangements, variation, and improvisation. During the month of April, I hope to prepare my future colleagues remotely, using the Zoom platform, and I am already looking forward to working with them. If you will be in Bucharest on May 30th, I would be very happy to see you all at our concert, which will take place at the Jewish Theater of Bucharest (Strada Doctor Barasch Iuliu 15, București 030167, Romania).
So, this month I am mostly busy preparing for a concert in Romania. My only performance this month will be in Flensburg, Germany, where I will perform as part of an event organized by the local Jewish community on April 24th at 4PM at I.-C.-Möller Platz.
May, as opposed to April, will be very busy for me. I will write about my performances in May in the May issue of my newsletter, but I will only mention the first of them now: from May 1st to 4th I will be teaching and giving a concert at the Jewish Conference Limmud, which will take place in Bad-Wildungen, Germany. The event is closed, and open for the participants only, but I hope that many of you have already registered for this conference and I will see you there.
That's all I have for now. I wish you a good month, and God willing the news in April will not be even more daunting than it was in March. Take care!

Check my calendar for more information about my further concerts!
My concert schedule is gradually filling up, which is good news.
On the other hand, this means that if you would like to organize an event with my participation (be it a concert, a klezmer music workshop, a Yiddish dance workshop, or a lecture), then now is the time to hurry up and contact me regarding possible dates!
