Mark Kovnatskiy is one of the leading violinists of traditional klezmer music. Based in Hamburg, he performs internationally as a soloist, chamber musician, and composer, presenting both traditional klezmer repertoire and his own compositions. He has appeared at major klezmer festivals in Europe, North America, and Japan and regularly teaches at international festivals and workshops. His musical work combines historical klezmer traditions with influences from classical music as well as Moldavian and Romanian musical traditions.
